I found a bridge support that just like the one found by dbs, was high enough to see the Earth's curvature. BTW: Bottom a little right of center, in the river, is the top of one support for the old bridge.
Hi Walt

My bridge support is a lighthouse.....Cape Willoughby Kangaroo Island ( Eastern End ).

That is some cool erosion. Nicely captured!
Hi Gordon

I'm no geologist but the way they ' sit ' on the ground I would assume they were once molten and cooled very quickly.
Some of them are only supported on a very small point and some are over 20 feet high.
On that shot the closest rock is only touching the base rock in only 2 places

Interesting - looked like wind erosion to me, but I'm no geologist either. Still a cool capture. (Now I'm off to do some reading...)

On Kangaroo Island? Cool! When they want to build a bridge to the mainland, they already have the first support!

One of a 120-shot sequence that I used to make a time-lapse video of the family opening presents (including Grandpa's new tuba - he was a Virginia all state tuba player in high school, and hadn't had the opportunity to play in over 50 years) at the grandparents' house. I often reach for the 8mm Rokinon fisheye for group shots in tight spaces.

I pity his lips. When I picked up a violin and started to play after a 30 year hiatus, within two minutes the fingers of my left hand were painfully cramped. If you don't use it, you lose it.

Hi Walt

The thought of a bridge is tempting but with the expance of water being so rough all the time , I mean ships will not cross but go around Kangaroo Island.
A bridge would in all likely be destroyed every other tide so a ferry is there...but not always.

Old Backstairs Passage is rough at the best of times. Ripper part of our state though, pity the tracks keep getting closed down that way though closing access for all but the keenest of bushwalkers

Yes, he'll have to get the chops back in shape. I played trumpet from the 4th grade through college, and now when I pick up the instrument my range is greatly diminished and I have about 10 minutes to play before my embouchure is totally shot.

Circular Grand Central

I am having fun with the Meike circular fish-eye f2.
Here is a picture wide open in combination with the a6400.
