10-17 Fisheye as a "macro" lens, 10mm slightly defished and cropped.

Tried using my Rokinon 8mm fisheye for landscape photography; I try to frame open sky with something close and take advantage of hyperfocal distance to keep foreground and background sharp.

Nordic bed from the 17th or 18th century. It's small, probably for a child. Notice the way the vertical board on the right has been shaped to fit against the log wall.. Cross posted on the MFT thread, but slightly modified for posting here.

I'm guessing that in a normal perspective, that log wall is straight; interesting how the fisheye perspective makes the walls look like they are "cradling" the bed.

I think this image was already posted on this thread, but that was several years ago. Unapologetically taken with a fish-eye, with the intent to get extensive DOF.

The round frame works well for me, much better than a highly distorted person (nice casual feel, btw.) and stretched corners would with a rectangular ultra-wide.

An Autumn tree on our town common. A little bit of the jacket I was wearing photobombed the upper edge of the image. It's probably the hood. The grassy surface of the common, in some areas green in others covered by fallen leaves, shows all the way around this image except where the hood of my jacket inserted itself.

What lens is this actually, providing more then 180 degrees? The Laowa 4mm? Good use of that FoV.

Yes, a Laowa 4mm Specialty, limited use lens. You cannot take a lot of images with it as they quickly become "oh, there's another with that lens." There's a newer ultra-fish-eye that's a bit wider* but more important it's a little taller so it protrudes more from the camera and is easier to keep fingers or the hand grip of the camera out of the image circle.

* TT Artisans 4mm f2.8, covers 225 degrees vs 210 degrees for the Laowa.

Can't resist the urge to go 10mm. Although this is slightly defished in post.
