The attached photo is with the F17-28mm fisheye at the widest FL. I am new to this lens, but I find it potentially very useful as it can give full fisheye with FF and very wide/mildly fishy (image) on cropped sensor. Attached is an example of the latter, in which I used Photoshop's transform warp function to make the horizon reasonably level w/o affecting the tree's limbs.

That tree is simultaneously beautiful and mysterious, even a bit sinister.

Two fish-eye images from a harbor in Maine about five years back. The lens was indispensable for the first image, as using a rectilinear UWA would have required stepping back = kerplunk, hard on the equipment, and me.

Thanks. The effect (besides the fact that this particular tree is a remarkable specimen, and the use of a fisheye lens) is likely due to:
-- placing the camera only a few inches above the ground, and (thus) strongly angled upwards
-- that it was night with a blend of moonlight and multiple street/house lights
-- and sometimes we get lucky

I really liked the shot of "dead Zinnia flower, standing forlornly alone in the winter garden where the greens of spring and summer are long gone.

Regards,

Suhail

Sometimes you need to take a certain type of photo and you don't care about its artistic merits or if you break a few rules. I tried firing my external flash wirelessly with the on-board flash with very poor results (and half the time, the external flash in my hand ended up in the frame) and bouncing the Metz behind to the mirror over the vanity or the wall on the left side just gave me big shadows.

Sounds and looks as though both flash technique and dwelling are works in progress.

The ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet are far enough along that I know how to get the results I want, but my intention was to use a large mirror behind me and the white ceiling to get my flash to more evenly light up this confined space within the FOV of a fisheye lens and I don't know if there is any way to do that with a single flash. Any advice on using flash with a fisheye?

Bounce off something large and white, with the flash as far from that surface as possible. Because I have one, I'd just use a Godox bare-bulb strobe.
