Are you sure it isn't the other way? The second image looks wider than the first to my eye.

Double checked with the exif info. I started this series at 17mm, then approaching the tree and zooming out to try different perspectives.

I was wondering if maybe you had moved. If not, the size/height of the tree would have been reversed in the two images.

A few of the fisheye images above look almost as it taken with a rectilinear lens. No hiding the fisheye distortion on the image below although I did de-distort it slightly just to see what that slider would do. Irix 4mm on an Olympus EM10 mk ii, taken as a quick test on on the deck, sunroom visible at left looks blue (it's white) because of blue-sky lighting. My left foot along the lower edge. This is really a super-fisheye, 210 degree view.
Can see your finger and croog! Wow that thing is wide!

How do you get the image to come out round? When I try the 10-17 on the K-1, I get something that is round on top and flat on each side, sort of a keyhole shape.

Do you have the HD DA 10-17, new version of that lens?

If Yes.

You just twist lens hood open, not pulling if and whole lens hood thing come off, not just cap.

OK, thanks, no mine must be the older version that does not permit removing the cap holder (for lack of a better term). Wish mine did that!

Okay. Then you have 2 options. Sell what you have and get new model(if you want circular FE from 10-17) or butcher that hood(the cap holder)...that is risky business and you wont have hood after that. that said I could have just bought circular FE at the firstplace. Because almost 90% of my shots with this zoom is @ 10 mm. For now.

The second image is cool = a circular image of a circular structure.

Thanks for the information. I will have to think whether to sell and rebuy, definitely will not butcher the DA version!

It fooled me a little into thinking that was a straight boardwalk that just got bent like crazy by the fisheye... until I followed it and my brain exploded a little when I finally realized
