I liked those really basic umbrellas in Japan. Really useful for an overseas visitor who needs protection from rain but does not have baggage space to take it away. But a bit environmentally unfriendly. A solution could be found for that.

That is a really nice roup. Were I forced to pick one as my favorite, probably the churchyard (second image). I like the way lateral and lower elements encircle the little chapel.

I agree, all three have something going for them, I like how the 3rd uses the FE zoom to depict the scene with naturally looking proportions despite the wide angle of view.

I also looked up the angle at which New Street meets Church Street - as expected, not nearly as steep as the picture makes you believe. Somewhat frightening, a quick web search revealed the corner rather quickly by just 2 cues: I guessed that half an E and a W on the street sign most likely belong to 'NEW STREET' and there's a sign reading BAY DENTAL CARE in said street. Only later I saw the location in the user profile, and I did not even try to check for geo-tags in the metadata ...

Hi Hawk

It is a very useful lens definitely not a one trick pony.

Used Pentax DA 10-17mm FE Zooms are often very reasonably priced, now that the HD version is out. Alternatively the Samyang/Bower/Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 - but make sure you can return it or have a way to test upfront, quality isn't very consistent.
