So after discovering this thread, I looked into the Zuiko lenses, and found a lens tyoe that I have always wanted, but could never justify the cost of.

Shift lenses.

I found a Zuiko 35mm f2.8 shift lens on eBay for cheap, bout a Leitax conversion ring, and now have a nice little shift lens.

The first couple photos with it:

My turntable.

The receiver I just picked up to replace my ailing Integra DTR-7.9.

And a two image panorama, the turntable, receiver, the Wadia iPod Classic dock, and my iPod Touch 6.

I fiddled with the shift in all the images, but the size of the viewfinder, even the rear screen in live view, is too small to make good decisions about the impact of the movements on an image. It might be easier if there was a way to tether my K-1 to a tablet device. Quick examination (chimping) of images on a tablet for comparison of the movement changes would be much easier, I think.

Shift lenses.
So, what does the shift do? I've heard about shift lenses but do not quite understand their specialty.

Again, great audio set up!

Moving the lens up or down, side to side can help correct perspective distortion (or aggravate it). Supposed to be good for architectural photography.

On the close up shot of the turntable the lens was only a few inches from the corner of it. The camera and lens were up against the chase for the fireplace flue from downstairs. I shifted the lens fully left, and up slightly.

Thanks Ed.

Not something one would be able to enjoy in an apartment, or even suburbia, without having to endure unhappy neighbors.

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like an interesting concept, especially to use for non-architectural purposes as it is intended. Cool stuff.
