I finally have something to contribute after a long while.
This is a closeup of the female half of a statue which stands under a canopy of trees at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Long Island. The first photo was taken with the DA70 in July, the second was taken with a Lensbaby 3-G in September.
DA70mm @ f4.0 @ 1/180 second.
Lensbay 3-G @ f5.6 @ 1/30 second.
I know I should have done this comparison at the same aperture, but lately I've found that I like the f5.6 aperture on my Lensbaby better than the f4.0 setting I've been using for the past couple of years.
The difference in bokeh is quite noticeable, but remember: Lensbabies don't have any aperture blades.
Here's the whole statue.
I'll try again to get both faces in the sweet spot, but trying is all the fun with a Lensbaby.
This lens is unforgiving when it comes to focusing, but I like this aspect of the lens, because it always makes you think.
