I find that Lensbabies excel in low light.

Thank you Barondla. I really enjoy my Lensbaby and bag of bits. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use it much all summer (or any other lens) because of a damaged wrist that has been casted, uncasted, recasted....what a bore!

Lensbaby Muse with double glass optics on K-5, sorry but I forgot which apperture ring I had in.

I am considering getting a sweet 35 optics. Anyone has experience with it on Muse?

Prepelica, nice image. You have the Muse performing well. Welcome to the forums.

The Sweet35 should work about the same as the double glass optic. You still push/pull to focus and bend to move the sweet spot. There are some differences:

1. The lens has a wider field of view.
2. The apertures are all built in and selectable by turning the aperture ring.
3. Unlike the Double Glass optic, your Muse shipped, this lens will stop down past f8.
4. The filter size is bigger than 37mm so front mounted LB filters don't fit.
5. The Sweet35 sticks out the front of the Muse allowing optic removal without using the tool.
6. You can not use the weird shaped creative apertures.

The Sweet35 is very convenient and provides on aps-c cameras, the field of view the Lensbaby was originally designed for (35mm). You would enjoy it, but keeep in mind the LB effect will be similar to what you already have. Minus the wider field of view.

My main reason for wanting sweet 35 optic are built in apertures. It's fun to change the aperture rings on Muse, but it really is not practical, and I always worry that I will drop one of them and never find it again. I am not interested in using those strange shaped aperture rings, so that is not a problem for me.

Having a wider field of view can be useful in many situations, and if I really want to, I can always put the double glass back in its place.
I know that I will have to focus Muse the same way, and for some more time I am ready to go with it.

Thanks for the info, I have much clearer picture of how it works now.
And I also have sweet 35 on my B&H wish-list!

Thank you, I am glad you like it. I was not sure about the framing, I took several shots while they were walking and liked this one the best. I always try to avoid cropping any photo taken with a Lensbaby, so I left it as it is, even though they were relatively far away. It would probably be better without that tree in the back, but some things you can't change.

Super image prepelica. Twilhelm is correct about the colors. You have the Muse performing at a high level.

"Trees in Snow" LB Composer with plastic optic and f4 ap disc. Pentax K-01 (yellow so it won't get lost in the snow)
