Pentax-FA* 645 300mm f 4.0 on the K-1

Here are a few shots around the house, and one inside the house. These are all handheld, but this lens is a handful, and would benefit from a tripod. If you want to hand hold this lens, it is maybe better to use the K-1 rather than the 645D/Z.

Ill add some photos to this thread, Taken today with the 645 LS 75mm and the K-1 at the Local zoo. Not a bad combo, but I I wish I brought the 135 LS with me.

and lastly, With it being Halloween this week, Who can say no to a fruit bat?

Nice shots. I have the 75/135LS also, but have not used them much on the K-1. Both are fine lenses, but I also have 75FA and 75A, so not too much need for the 75LS on K-1. Wondering if you have found any way to get the LS lenses to work in LS mode on K-1? I have been assuming that it is not possible.

The dfa 55 f2.8 is a nice lens. Not the best when using on the k-1 unless you dont mind shooting wide open, saying there is no aperture ring. No comment on the 120 saying i dont have that one.

Ho yes, the adapter don't allow K1 to pilot the aperture ?
If you have any picture of K1+ 645lenses don't hésitante, it's very rare on the net!

Ill eventually add some more to this thread, but im afraid not. There might be an adapter that has an aperture ring on it, but the adapter i have is just a dummy adapter. No electronics or anything. Luckily though most of the lenses for the 645 system has their own aperture control.

I just ordered a $35 eBay 645 to K adapter and I have no D FA 645 lenses so I'm looking forward to trying the 30, 35, 45, 75, 200, and 300 on the K-1 and maybe the K-3 too. The 645 300/4 with the 1.4x adapter on a K-3 will have pretty good reach!

Glad your adapter is on the way. I will be very interested in your reaction to using these lenses on the K-1. I just swapped my FA75mm and FA120mm for a D FA 90mm, expecting the 90 by end of week. It is supposed to be a fantastic lens. I lost my 120 and 75, but I do have A versions oif both lenses.

I do not have the new 55mm, only the A version. Also, I have the A version of the 120, but just traded off my FA 120 for a D FA90mm.

Sounds like a great swap! I'd love to find someone to trade me a new expensive lens for cheaper older ones!

Well I did not describe the full deal. I had to add $1,100 to boot. FA75 + FA 120 (both in like-new condition) + $1,100 = D FA 90mm (also said to be in like-new condition). Still, a good deal for me since I prefer using the A120 over the FA 120 anyway, and my 75FA will be easy to replace. Tremendously excited to see how a $3,500-4,000 lens actually performs in real life.

I figured as much. Congrats, I look forward to see the results!
