I'm getting to know my new 1.4 after keeping it on my camera for 3 weeks. We haven't had the best shooting conditions in the NW but here are a few of my favs so far.

I like the sharpness, rendition, utility for low light conditions, and amazingly solid feel. It has taken me a while to get used to it, and I wasn't sure I would keep it, since I have 50mm covered with 2 of my zooms. But, so far, my appreciation is increasing. What do you all think so far?

Nice pictures! Not sure about you but it’s my default lens for my K1 II as now. I got lots of lens cover 50mm focal length but it’s the special one.

Special "holiday" deal from LensRentals, paid for two days and keep for a week. So I've got this lens coming in tomorrow so I can see for myself if it is significantly better than my DA*55, enough to convince me to crack my wallet and sell off my two DA's (well probably just one and a Revuenon 50 1.4.

Three sample test shots with 100% crops as examples of performance on APS-c. As shot except for a level adjustment. Pentax K-70.

edit: No idea why the color change on the jpegs but no matter. Posted only to show how well the lens resolves on a crop camera.

I have spent over a year deliberating about this lens it's clear it is out of the ordinary, but it wasn't until an irresistible offer turned up at SRS Microsystems that I realised quite how out of the ordinary this lens is. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun getting the most out of it.

Taken in the Highlands along the local dune system

Spring wildflowers are starting to pop up here in the Phoenix area. Great opportunity to get some sweet, sweet bokeh.

I'm also trying to make a point of using the 50mm for some landscapes on my hikes to put that sharpness to good use. Here's one from Sunday up in the McDowell Mountains in the east valley. I'm impressed how well you can make out Camelback Mountain and downtown Phoenix in the background.

I continue to be blown away by the sharpness and cropping ability of this lens on my K1 mk ii. This is heavily cropped from the center of the frame at f1.8 and ISO100 (I was not this close!). When I first saw this little rattler I was bummed that I left my DA*300mm at home, but after seeing this as the final result, its hard to think I would've gotten something better from the 300mm hand held.
