Being a Limited and not a star lens, they are very different. The 21 doesn't have that poke-your-eye-out sharpness of the 50, but renders absolutely beautifully across the frame, from wide open upward. So it's a more subtle lens, and may not appeal as much to people who judge a lens by its test scores. I love it though. Walking around shooting with just the 21, 50 and 70-200 on the K1 is my top of the line kit.
