The funny thing is, I keep thinking I barely use this lens, and yet I have a few photos that I really like with it
So perhaps not an everyday lens, but it has its magic
I particularly like the second image. (The one looking up in the atrium.) My understanding is that the fisheye was developed for astronomy, allowing a wider view of the night sky.
For those who have Lightroom, there is a lens correction preset for the Rokinon 8mm. Open Lightroom. Select the desired image. Select "develop". On the right side of the screen, scroll down to "Lens Correction". At the top of the Lens Correction menu, select "Profile". Below "Profile" are check several boxes. Check "Enable Profile Corrections". Below that are several drop-down menus. In the top one (Labeled "Make", select "Rokinon". Below "Make" is another drop-down menu, "Model". Select "Rokinon 8mm f3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS" or "Rokinon 8mm f3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS II" for whichever model you have. Finally, below "Model" is one final drop-down menu, "Profile". Select "Adobe (Rokinon 8mm f3.5 UMC Fish-eye CS, PENTAX)". Lightroom will automatically correct the distortion but the correction will crop off a lot of the edges..
