Here are a few more taken with the Sightseeing Screwmount, Pentax SV. Although the project is now dormant, the traveling SV was instrumental in introducing many Pentax Forum users to film photography and/or old-school non-TTL metering. Forum users would sign up in advance for a couple of weeks with the camera with the only cost being that of shipping to the next person on the list with the owner (user @woof) being at the end. The camera was initially packaged with a Super Takumar 55/1.8 and a compact selenium light meter, but soon acquired a Super Takumar 28/3.5 (v2) courtesy of one of the chain members. With time, the camera also acquired a durable wooden shipping box, at least one repair/CLA, and various accessories. Most users managed to move at least two rolls of film through the camera and the results were shared here on PF and on Flickr with often impressive results. I took two turns with the Sightseer and believe it completed at least three tours before the chain failed.

These curves are just below the Rowena Crest viewpoint near the east end of the Columbia River Gorge and make for a fun decent from the high bluff to river level.

The plankhouse is a reconstruction of the type of structure observed by the Lewis and Clark expedition near what is now Ridgefiled, Washington, USA. In fall of 1805, when the expedition passed, the area was the site of an extensive Chinookan (native American) village with multiple such structures. The plankhouse is constructed of cedar log posts and beams with a cedar plank roof lashed in place. The door in the photo is about 4 foot high and requires the person entering to duck down while doing so.
