The shim that worked was .006 inches. Not sure what it would be in metric.
After you remove the lens, use a small screw driver to disassemble the lens mount and remove the pin.
It's not hard to do.
Re assemble the lens.

No more problems.

Well, today I did what I promise to do.
Many thanks by the help!
Lets do some pictures of the job in the post I did (it is in pt-br), anyway, I hope could ilustrate something about.

I recently purchased the Sears 135mm f/2.8 macro. Even at f/8 in non-macro mode, it is not sharp. I suspect that there may be some focusing issue on the lens and I will check on that with debug mode. However, when I slightly shake the lens, I could hear some sound! I wonder if this is something wrong with the lens, or something with the modified mount where the dreadful Ricoh pin was already removed...

I would have to admit the Sears 135 is not the sharpest lens I own.
It was the one that got stuck on my K200.
Removing the pin was a pretty easy job and there is no rattling in mine.
It takes a bit of coaxing to get acceptable sharpness and the softness at wider apertures is exploitable.
Here's a couple shots taken on a windy day.

They do have nice bokeh, I probably shouldn't have traded mine, I traded up to a Super Tak 50mm 1.8 and 1.4. The super taks are more "contrasty" but the bokeh is definitely nicer on the Sears.

Did a bit of post processing for the colors and cropping and the like, but the base image was all via a cheap-o non-macro version Auto Sears MC 135mm f/2.8.

Usually 'macro' 135 vanishes quick on fleabay, but I've been watching this item for about two weeks when finally hit that buy button.. Must be because of the seller did not put any 'Sears' and 'Macro' words on the title, just plain 135mm F2.8 K-Mount lens

Will take like 2 weeks to ship..can't wait!

How much is the price difference between the two versions?

If the seller knows that the 'macro' version is the much preferable version, then the tagged price is usually higher.

Sears Auto Macro 55mm f2.8 m42

I recently purchased this lens and have been happy with it. Very pleased.
5 minutes of research would have told me this goes to 1:2 and only to 1:1 with an adapter ring made for it or extension tubes.
I thought this might be of interest if anyone runs across one. Good for close up and macro but not so great at a distance as a regular 55mm.

@f5.6

@f2.8w/ext. tube 15mm?

I'm expecting my newest acquisition any day now, and want to toss a quick question out.

I'm getting a Auto Sears MC 75-260mm Macro Zoom (or... something worded similar).

I'm finding surprisingly little out there about this lens, so I'm wondering what to expect of it when it comes in. Does anyone else here have one of these?

EDIT: This is actually pretty wildly redundant for me, as I own a Sigma 70-300 DL Macro, so I'm gaining manual control and hopeful lesser weight than the Sigma has. That said, for all I know this Sears I'm getting could be heavy as a brick.

Double posting...

It came in today.

The lens wasn't actually a macro lens (its a 'close focus'), but it may as well have been labeled as such. Any 260mm lens I can hold my left hand in front of the lens and manage to get in focus while holding the camera with my right is a keeper.

The images are verrrrry nice and sharp. I haven't had a chance to really get around and use it (I've had it for all of 10 minutes now) but when I get anything worth sharing, I will. For now, here's an overexposed test shot of a pair of standard sized needlenosed pliers at 100% crop just to give an idea of what I managed to get for $8 + shipping here.

EDIT: And here's a shot of one of the irises in the garden reduced to 1024x768. Only cropping was to trim the edges of the image out. This lens is amazing so far, especially for what I paid.
