Brighten My Day

A beauty to brighten an otherwise dull car park.

Relaxed and comfortable, with a hint of mellow.

You beginning to sound a bit like an expert in this field... you with the Aussie equivalent of the American FDA?

We’re a bit more relaxed and comfortable than our trans-Pacific neighbours. Well, mostly.

Anyway, I’m an engineer – we’re trained to notice things.

Great club, and maybe will help inspire us to use these unsung heroes more often. I have:

1. Pentax-M 200mm f 4.0, great lens for zoo visits and high school music performances in the gymnasium, sharp and clear, using on K-3 for narrower FOV.

2. Pentax 645 (A and FA), not the sharpest Pentax medium format lens, but good for tight portraiture.

3. Mamiya 210mm f 4.0, nice and sharp for use on 135 format, does not adapt to medium format because of incompatible registry distances, and on K-1 and K-3, exhibits much narrower FOV, more like 300-400mm FOV.

4. Pentax 67, f 4.0, sharp, sharp, marvellous rendering on either Pentax 645, Pentax full-frame, or APS-C, FOV good for portraiture on 645N/D/Z but really too tight for portraiture on full frame or APS-C but great for birding especially using 2X rear converter.

I will start looking for opportunities to use these unsung heroes a bit more often!

Thanks, it wasn't really until the K1s arrived that I started to use my “Gorgeous Lady” (Pentax-A* 200mm F2.8 ED) in earnest again.

I bought an SMC Takumar 200mm f4 lens for my M42 Pentaxes for Sport use -- all the barrel lubricant has gone 'Stiff' and seized up -- even leaving it out in the Sun ( when there WAS Some!! ) didn't cure it . i rarely use it now -- I will see if I can find a snap taken with it though ---

All 35mm -- I DO have a 200mm f4 for my 6x7 and could show some of those if interested
