If you capture near-in-front-of-you architecture without tilt-shift functionality, a very wide angle helps a lot get whole buildings / scenery into the frame. But there may arise perspective problems. The ultra wide angles of this lens helps to get things corrected in post. Two examples where Capture One's keystone correction helped to get things vertical.

(x-post from the K-1 thread) Some with K-1 plus DA*11-18 images ...

K-1 • FF mode • 16mm • f/5.6

K-1 • FF mode • 15mm • f/8

And two very near distance captures at f/2.8 where you can get an impression how transition to unsharp areas looks like ...

K-1 • FF mode • 18mm • f/2.8

K-1 • FF mode • 16mm • f/2.8

Yes, a great lens. Love it and clearly recommend it.

I use it with the KP and K-1. Some years ago I didn't think I'd enjoy shooting that

wide! But time and we are changing. :-)

Weak pulse detected, resuscitation efforts continue.......

One from November 2020 when the milky way core was setting early in the night in the southern hemisphere. A bit of light painting for the foreground and zodiacal light framing the "nargun".

Anybody out there?

Where are all the DA*11-18 mm shooters? If you have this absolutely stellar lens, it is your civic duty to share ....... ;-)

Another from the late 2020 with the Milky Way setting just after dark. The old shed watches it slip below the horizon, stacked and light painted with a mix of ambient light from a nearby house
