I am testing the lens this week so I'll share a couple samples. I am using it to create painting like photos. These will be cross posts from other threads.

A few more from my travels today.
The DA* 11-18 is a fantastic lens but takes a certain commitment to carry around all day over your shoulder.

Agree 100%! On the upside, at least when you get the images back you can be sure they are about as good as you can get!

Or maybe we should be thinking of 8x10 film cameras when it starts to get us down?

Thanks for injecting some life into this thread!

Good point! I’ll have to remember this next time I’m feeling weighted down. I can be thankful for the tools we have available to us these days. Besides, I’ve never carried one, but I hear the K1 + FA15-30 is quite the beast. I can use that as my reference point if needed :-)

Here's a sports photo with the 11-18:

The Handoff

I like this because this is good way to get right in the action of the handoff of the relay, which is usually an exciting event.

Nice focus to out of focus transition on that first one @acoufap!

Snuck off the motorway while driving home last night to catch the rising MW on a clear night against the dark rural skies. The trees and paddock is lit by the lighting on the motorway. 25 shots stacked in Sequator.

Never saw the MW upside-down, before!

I must get this lens.

It's all a matter of perspective I guess. Being from the southern hemisphere, we get used to viewing things upside down!

Northern hemisphere viewers can rotate the photo 180 degrees......

Spoon Rock - with milky way rising

A 3 image vertical pano taken with the Kp and the DA*11-18 mm off Caves Beach near Newcastle, Australia. Lights on the horizon are empty coal ships waiting in the queue for a fill. Spoon Rock is jutting from the right and was used to load coal when ships were smaller.

First test shots

Hello everyone,

I got myself this lens for christmas and went out to some local spots to test it. I think this thread deserves a push up so here are some of my results:

The first two pictures are from a heather natural reserve at a freezing cold morning.
This reserve was once a military training area and decomissioned after the cold war ended like many other such places in Germany. To keep this area from forestation there have been herds of old horses and cattle relocated and when you´re lucky sometimes you can see a few caucasian bisons. So this is an interesting place besides landscapes...

The next place I went is in the tide lands of the german north sea. After a few days of freezing temparatures the sea left some amazing ice structures on the ground after leaving.

And finally at almost the same place a few days later and winter gone...

All pictures are shot with the K3 III

I´ll definately keep this lens, although very specialised I like the new possibilities I get from it.
