as good as this lens is, you can tell its age when it comes to strong daylight; it'll lose contrast or give you odd color casts, especially across blue skies:

note the purple-ish cast here with strong sunshine over my right shoulder

like any older lens, it has difficulty with bright reds in strong daylight also:

but manage the light properly and you'll be rewarded with smooth tones and bokeh:

One from each of my 35's

DA35 f2.4 (wide open)

Carl Zeiss Flektogon 35mm f2.4 (I think paired with the Raynox)

Sigma Art 35mm f1.4

---------- Post added 05-05-19 at 06:44 PM ----------

and the B&W version (which I prefer)

Auto Aragon 35/2.8

Very odd lens as there is no info on it out there - third party NYC Camera Shop 1970's lens... made in Japan, but unbeknownst by whom. Not really a great performer - but it is odd, DOF wide open is rather wide, the focus throw is too long, and it focuses waay past infinity. Cosmetically, it is a gorgeous lens. No good bokeh really... I'll find a purpose for it at some point. Maybe keep it on film...

This' the Aragon... it can be sharp at times, but handling is really rough!
