Thanks. I have a few lenses that are faster than f 2.8. These are the Mamiya C 80mm f 1.9 and the Pentax 67 105mm f 2.4. There are several others out there, a Contax and some others, most too expensive for me to add to my collection. Hopefully, some of the folks fortunate enough to have some of these expensive, fast lenses will post here.
There is also a concept called "absolute aperture." It is calculated as follows: Focal Length divided by aperture. For example, for the Mamiya/1.9, absolute aperture would be 80/1.9 = 42.1. The meaning of the absolute aperture concept is that the higher the absolute aperture, the greater are the characteristics that make fast lenses intereting to photographers--depth of field, subject-ground separation, bokeh aspects, etc.
I am thinking that the lenses posting here can be any brand but using Pentax cameras unless there is a specific reason why not. It is also expected that medium format cameras will be used when possible. An exception might be the Mamiya C 80mm f 1.9, which cannot be adapted to Pentax 645 format cameras, but which can be adapted to the K-1.
Nothing to post right this minute, but will be back with some photos soon.
