Oui, I am a fan of the F series ... and it's a series that I am going to build up hopefully soon ...

Right now finishing up my Adaptall-2 collection and fast "50" collection ... then the next stop is "AF zooms", and the F's are favorites here ... just picked up another copy of the 35-70/3.5-4.5 which is heading to me in the mail ... will keep the better of the two ... and eying some other F zooms ... any recommendations? Salut, J
The best F zoom to me is F 70-210 and concerning price and performance F 35-70 is also a top choice. I also have a F 35-105 and F 28-80. They are not expensive, but sometimes hard to find. In terms of IQ, I think F 35-105 is closer to F 35-70, and F 28-80 at high aperture value would be soft.

I am curious about your adaptall collections, I have several zooms and still hunting for primes and one last zoom 80-200 f2.8. I have two SP 35-80, and am considering selling one.

For fast 50, I am not sure how many 50s I already have,Takumars, yashinons, mamiyas, ricohs and some german brands'.

I am now quite into DKL mount lenses, like voigtlander and Schneider.

Good luck on your hunting. BTW, I love the lenese bought from you, especially the pentacon 29mm.

Bonjour,

Thanks for your post ... good info to know about these F's.

I just picked three more AD-2's ... a 26A, a 13A & a 03B ... I need to make another "group" collection photo ...

And the Pentacon 29mm is kind of a hidden gem, IMHO ... great performance/value ratio !

Salut, J

PS - Just picked up another F 35-70 ... too cheap to say "non" and a bit better shape than my older copy ... J (x-post)

There's no way a cheap $39 F 35-70 can take decent clear pictures.

Here are a couple taken on Boxing Day traditional Village events, for the Essex Chronicle Newspaper -- I was competing against several other snappers with HUGE CANONS with HUGE zoom lenses -- my little 2006 Pentax K10D + 35-80mm f4-5.6 SMC Pentax -F looked very small --

Where was this shot Bill? It looks like it could be in the nature reserve across the road from my place.

It's one of the back roads on the eastern side of the Cairn Curran reservoir, near Maldon, in Victoria.
