Nice! Imo the F35-80 is probably the most underrated legacy Pentax lens.

I just posted some photos in the DA Zoom Lens Club relating to this post. Those were taken with a DA 16-45 at 45mm. The 2 pics here were taken with a F35-70 at 70mm. I did no PP. This lens was less than $30. It is my 3rd copy. I think I will keep this one not that anything was wrong with the first two. I have a 28-70 FA, a 28-80 Tak F and a DA 18-55 so sometimes I move stuff out. Too many of the same.
Was trying to see how they compare. What do you think?

Sorry folks. I got the pics mixed up. These are the DA photos.

My most recent F acquisition is a F*300mm from Japan, the paint on barrel has been touched up and looks a bit second hand (I'd love to have it refinished if I could find someone local and reliable) but the glass is excellent.

Here's a couple with it on my K3 from earlier this year

My last attempt with the F 28-80/3.5-4.5 - mine has a bad front element scratch that is really hurting the images taken. This is one of the best samples... but likely shelving this puppy...

Usually scratches on the front element have little or no effect on IQ. Someone on the forums did some testing on an old lens, using sandpaper and other abrasives on an 18-55 kit lens (IIRC), and there was negligible effect on the photos. My Zenitar 16 is quite scratched up on the front, but the only time I notice it is if I shoot directly into the sun.
