Henrik, congratulation!, in your hands, IMO you've got one of the best lens ever made....F 135/2.8 from it's rendering should be categorized as a limited (but I know there is more than IQ to be called a 'limited')..... It is that good.

I don't know about the 50/1.4, but seeing the images on the net, the 50/1.7 should be equally good (this came out ambiguous, not the same as 50/1.4 but same as the 135/2.8...I think the 50/1.7 is that good as well) . I recently had a chance to buy it for a good price but I already have the FA43/1.9 and I had to pass on it,... still recovering from that decision ...FA43/1.9 is easily the best lens I own, By far.....so. it's ok....

I also have the f28/2.8, although not as stellar as the 135, it too is a truly amazing lens. Since I got the 135, I've become a HUGE Pentax-F lens fan. What a lens!

P.S: It is an image thread so I'll also post a couple of images. The first one got into PPG, the second taken with an ext. tube.

Pentax-F 50mm 1.4 price

I have a F 50mm 1.4 in absolutely beautiful condition that I am reluctantly thinking of selling. I have yet to see one for sale here on the marketplace, whereas the FA 50/1.4s show up several times a week. I have been trying to think of what price to ask but I can only base it on the FAs. Does anyone who has been lurking around on this site for longer than I have know if the prices are typically higher for a lens that rarely comes up for sale such as this one? I don't think this one has quite reached cult status yet, so I am not out to rip someone off.
Thanks in advance.
Ian

.

Maybe $50. But I'll do you a favor and give you $75.

Really, probably $225 - $335, the market is still weird right now.

I have no idea what the prices are, but I have just purchased 3 lenses in week, so I might have to wait for a very good price or start saving

Once you do decide... and if shipping to Europe, I will be interested if the price is good.

Incredible shot, but what the heck is that, raised writing on he wall? It's either casting a shadow or painted to look that way...

Thanks! The text is metal, mounted at a few centimeters distance from the wall. The text is Dutch and loosely translated it reads something like: "I always find it such a joy when things are canceled."

Just trying to give a good impression of what you can do with this lens.
I admit those are two of my best shots with that lens though.

Oh wait, I found another:

Axl, amazing picture. I absolutely adore most of the images taekn with the F50/1.7, but as i have the 43/1.9 (my favorite lens) I haven't gotten one. Man, that is some sweet rendering.
