K20D + Pentax F 50/1.7 @ ISO1600

I have both the 1.4 and 1.7 version, I think the 1.7 is sharper out of the box. No PP except to resize image...

I can't believe I hadn't mentioned this the first time I looked at these: they are truly remarkable images. They show so much personality. They remind me of the illustrations in children's books, which is amazing. Have you entered them in any contests?

I would also like to see them with the blacks pulled down just a bit to add some definition.

Actually Im not too sure about this. From several side by side comparisons I have seen:

-Yes the 1.7 is sharper at 1.7 than the 1.4 is at 1.4
-But the 1.4 is sharper than the 1.7 at 1.7!
-I think they are pretty even above 2.0 but not sure

Just for the fun of it, I'll post some comparative photos later. The entire point of using the 1.4; it delivers what you want at 1.4, I feel it doesn't. The 1.7 does deliver at 1.7...

Don't think for a minute I would give up my precious 1.4

Don't know what your ambient lighting was like here but it amazes me how much light my F28 sucks in @ 2.8, I've got shots that I thought were impossible in dark museums etc.
