I'm curious if the orientation of the aperture blades (to the front or to the back of the lens) has a significant effect on the outcome:

Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 1:1.8/55

SMC Pentax-M 1:1.7 50mm

SMC Pentax-A 1:1,7 50mm

SMC Pentax-FA 1:1.4 50mm

SMC Pentax-DA 1:1.8 50mm

maybe it's just how that series is assembled?

I did wonder if someone might have disassembled the A lens that I only recently got and reassembled it slightly wrong, but when I saw that the Tak's blades were assembled in the same direction, my mind could rest

Here's the shot from the prime thread, but... the lenses grew in between (except for the DA, it's a little shy). By the way, as I don't have a lens cap for the Tak (it's attached to a Spotmatic most of the time)... is it normal when turning focus all the way out that the tabs at the bottom also move, or did I unintentionally flick anything when picking it up and setting it back down?

Family of Fifties, side view, focus extended

Aesthetically, I like this one the most, even though they rolled a little too far when arranging them. Darned round obejcts!

Family of Fifties, Row

And this is not quite perfectly arranged, but I like the different coloured reflections in all the glass elements

very nice

you might try double sided tape to keep the round objects in place

Nice collection.

No rear lens cap on the Tak 55/1.8 constitutes abuse ;-)
I don't think anything moves on mine when I focus at infinity but I haven't really paid attention. I'll have to check that. eta - just checked...nope, nothing moves.

Some semi-autos

The Yashinon looks a lot like the Tak and, to my eye, performs similarly.
