I mean these types of photos are what this lens type was made for.

Yes, you are right, i think this lens is best for portraiture. I shoot landscapes sometimes, but not with 85 mm

My main interest is portraits (hobby, that's all)

And for a hobbyist you have a lot of luck with finding proper portrait subjects...

With regards to post #56 I guess some postprocessing of the eye region would help (it is rather dark).
