I agree with the other comments - WOW!!!!!!

I can’t believe this a hobby for you. Keep posting!
The best photographers (or practitioners of any craft) are the ones who do it for love rather than money. We are seeing this being proven here.

That’s true, but I’ll never reach that level of expertise, no matter how much I love playing around with photography.

The quality here makes me almost afraid to offer a couple of photos I took yesterday with the K1 and DFA 85. I was playing tourist and visiting somewhere with a whole bunch of white, so shooting at smaller apertures. It’s not something most would probably do, but I had fun doing it.

Nothing exciting, I had fun, the lens is just incredibly sharp both wide open (as others have shown here) as well as stopped down. I’m happy I bought it even though it’s designed for a type of photography I’ll never do. And it did save me money - it was a choice of buying the lens or buying a new travel trailer. The lens (as expensive as it is) was nowhere near as expensive as the travel trailer would have been!

And for a hobbyist you have a lot of luck with finding proper portrait subjects...

Keep on posting.

With regards to post #56 I guess some postprocessing of the eye region would help (it is rather dark).
I have version of slightly brighter catchlights and iris, but then model looks like fox or vampire, I had some comments in FB group about it and from the model and we decided that darker version looks more natural.

I think that the fun doing pictures is very important. It drives the motivation and creativity.

Definitely. Just imagine your big boss coming to you and shouting "You! Worm! Be creative! I give you 60 minutes to be artistic!"
Now wouldn't that be inspiring to the art?

Unless of course you are the king's court photographer and are paid full time to contemplate and think and contemplate and think and try and think again ...

there is something about the bokeh and transition to blur that makes pictures from this lens magical... just stunning

Amazing portraits!

For posting from flickr, you can choose from different options from the ‘share’ page. I usually use the pp code. You can choose the size too from there
