DA*60-250 Lens Club

New Lens Club for the DA*60-250

AFAIK, The only Lens club I can find to post pictures about that lens is the "DA zoom Club", but I think it would deserve a specific club IMHO... especially since this APS-C lens can be converted to Full-Frame bodies.

I love that lens! It's so sharp!

So let's see the results you can get with that very SPECIAL and underrated lens!

This troglo was around since the beginning of the winter. He feeds on suet I make and at night he hides under the patio.
At first he wasn't alone, he had a friend, but the latter haven't been seen for a while.
When the sun is from south-west, he come to the to of our dark BBQ and enjoy the heat.
That's when I was able to capture this photo, through our old double kitchen window.
He's so pretty!

Taken with the Pentax K-3ii + smc Pentax-DA* 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM @ 250mm
1/500, ƒ/4 (wide-open), ISO 125

I think if AF was a bit faster it wouldn't be that underrated. I love mine.

Why not (pourquoi pas) ?

Grand Canyon, North Rim, Mount Hayden seen from Point Imperial. DA* 60-250 mm f/4 @ 60 mm FL, 1/1000 sec f/8 on a K3.

My travel kit in 2018 was a K3 with a DA 12-24 mm f/4 AL, FA 35 mm f/2 and DA* 60-250mm f/4.

Mesquite Flats Sand Dunes, Death Valley. DA* 60-250 mm f/4, 200 mm FL, 1/1000 sec @ f/8.

Yeah ! And you have to know that this shot was made though an old-house, dirty doubled windows (in front of our kitchen sink)... we can guess the glass reflection as the color is a bit on the dimmed side, but even this, the sharpness is extraordinary at f4!

Apart from the long-established DA* Club.

5508 posts so far, with many images from the DA*60-250, but whatever....

I'll contribute few from the past. I largely use the DA 55-300 PLM these days.

Hard to believe, but I've had this lens 10 years now. K20D and K-x images.

Yeah... forgot about that "general" thread, that also overlaps the other photos from the DA Zoom club...
But I frankly think the DA*60-250mm deserves its own club...

There are so many clubs for lenses I don't own, so essentially I'm banned, but I own this one, so now DA*16-50 and DA*50-135 guys can't post in one of the threads I post in... awesome. I feel like I'm getting them back. Not to mention that people interested in the lens often enjoy the discussion and commentary in the dedicated threads.

A few more 10 year old 60-250 images

These are buried somewhere in one of those previous all inclusive threads, but I'll contribute some "oldies", each taken with the K1 and Dremel modified 60-250.

I have mixed feelings about this lens. Even with a fast shutter speed I had a hard time getting sharp images of birds (even a sitting hummingbird) yet a stationary object was always tack sharp. My first day on South Georgia Island, it froze up and took me 20 precious minutes before it would work again. Hasn't failed since, but I now use it mainly for larger wildlife and landscapes.
