Went to the lake today after work since the skies cleared up a bit. I limited myself to using the DA L 18-55 WR kit lens with the (recently arrived from china) JJC 52mm bayonet tulip hood (I really have to pay more attention to "ships from" section on amazon... takes sooooo long to arrive). Anyway, as mentioned I limited myself to the kit lens today, and here are the best results all scaled down to 25% of the original SOOC Jpeg. They are also all in-camera HDR shots.
Using the focus peaking option was a bit difficult with the harsh sun on my lcd, but I did like this shoreline image. The lake is unfortunately still both frozen, and barren of foliage and creatures yet.
I tried to keep my objects out of the shot, but I had to get a lower angle to catch the leaves on that tree and unfortunately.... picnic table with my stuff.... yeah.
An attempt at macro, handheld... or as wayne would say, EXTREME CLOSE-UP.
Didn't quite have my focal point correct on that one. Another attempt at macro/close-up. Has nice OOF render in background.
All in all, rather pleased with those 4 shots. They were the best of the bunch that I took today by far. The DA L 18-55 WR is certainly no slouch of a lens.
