Two of mine with the DA 18-55 MK2

Taken the last day of 2008 under very foggy and cold conditions.

Here are my four favourites from the 18-55 II. Great lens.

Indeed, thats the ticket: much more important than any other factor.

To the OP: did you have a look at the Pentax Photo Gallery?
You'll find there some really amazing photos with the kitlens as well.

Thanks Wildman and Sagar,

I'll guess if the conditions (fog and upcoming light) are right, you can squeeze something good out of a coke bottle .
But the quality of the Kit lens keeps surprising me. In this thread you can find some other stuff I shot that morning. With an other lens though, hence the link.

Hi Bart, indeed I did. Looking at the examples found at the PPG, was the main reason for getting the kit lens. That and the amazing bargain price of 32 euros

Martin, those are beautiful shots.

Looking at this thread and some other images here and on PPG I wonder if I should seriously consider getting one now

Found another one taken with the kit lens.

Cut me a little slack on this one it's highly compressed, cropped and nothing more than a large thumbnail...

...a little wildflower (about the size of a quarter) first revealing it's self to the early morning light

I don't know if these are my best, but I like these two. The 18-55 I isn't the sharpest lens in the world, but it's pretty good for the price.

Here are two I took yesterday actually. One is just a cool picture but the other has some nice colors. No PP on either.

Not sure these are "my best shots" but I like them. Sadly I don't use this lens much anymore, maybe I should put it on and go out shooting. It's not a great lens, but it is a good lens, and a better "kit" lens than most. And it is a GREAT "bang for the buck" lens.

NaCl(the "lowly" kit lens ain't so "lowly" )H2O
