Fabulous little thing...

Let's see how best this lens can be used in good hands. Share your best image taken with kit lens
18-55 II on an *ist D

One of the FEW lenses I've bought brand new - best $139.00 I ever spent! Small, light, don't have to worry about it, 95% as good as my FA* 20-70 (or more).

Love this little thing!

Cheers,
Cameron

Really appreciate all the images in this thread, thanks! Nice to see people using this much maligned lens. Personally if it were just a wee bit longer, it'd be more loved...

Any time someone maligns the 18-55, and I don't care what version it is, I shake my head and walk away. Just too many great images shown here to not to love it.

exactly! The best deal in the history of photography, IMHO. Amazing little lens, and this from an FA* 28-70 owner!

The only reason I might get rid of mine is to get the weatherproof versions, which would be really handy around here.

And Happy New Year, everyone!

Cheers,
Cameron

My first DSLR and I'm lovin' it!

I received a Pentax K-R, my first DSLR ever, as a recent Christmas gift. I am extremely happy with it! I was so excited about getting a DSLR, I spent weeks studying about it and photography (it actually kind of pushed into my real college studies ).
