On the way back home from Xian in China, I stupidly walked away from my K-r in the airport and lost it. But every cloud is silver-lined, as it meant I could buy a K-5, the camera I had always wanted. Complete with the newer, WR 18-55 lens. I also bought the 40 mm XS pancake, so I have a small but cherished collection of several kit lenses - the 40, the 18-55WR, the 55-300 that came with the K-r, and a much-loved 50 mm f1.4 I bought ages ago on fleabay for 10 quid.

The K-r was cool, but somehow I never got vey good results from it, but the K-5 is much more inspirational, and maybe this WR lens is a better sample.

This is in a small Christian church on Wenzhou Island, in the south of China:

18-55mm AL II

we were working on this car -nissan z- last summer and I happen to bring along w/ me my k-x that afternoon so i started snappin away. i sold this k-x (my very 1st pentax) and now have a k-5 but looking back at the old pics from it I wana know why divorced it.

Here's on that I shot in 2008 shortly after buying my first DSLR, a Pentax K10D kit.

This was taken with the original 18-55 AL kit lens.

I can't complain since I was camping New Year's weekend but it was chilly and rainy. Even my kit lens got some use due to its WR properties. I'm not sure the 2nd waterfall would have fit in the frame with a 10mm lens but it works despite being cut off in the middle.
