Looking back through this thread it's now clear that I'm not getting enough out of this great little lens. You guys are awesome! Here's a shot of a calla lily in my back yard I took back in April. Pentax DAL 18-55 WR.

Thank you! that was my first photo with a tripod I guess. Feeling kinda guilty I don't use the kit lens so much nowadays.

Yeah it's a lens that can surprise you. A lot of times the pics look generic, but then all of a sudden a great one pops out, just like yours, and we get amazed at what it can do.

Unfortunately for my kit lens, my Tokina 19-35 is a much more reliable performer, so I just use that instead. Yet, now that I got a 2nd body for my wife, the kit lens lives on in her bag

Dawn this morning...zero post production shot straight out of the camera. DAL 18-55 WR. Sites like this make going to work on Fri. a little easier.

So this is only for the 18-55? Or is any Pentax kit lens ok? Like the 35-70?

Going to post em and delete them if it's an issue.
