DA-L50-200 again. This lens is great at the things I didn't buy it for.

This was taken inside a rain cloud at the top of Great Staple Tor yesterday. So wet that the 18-55mmWR had rain spots on it again a second after I'd wiped it clear. The camera and lens have been in the dry cabinet overnight and seem fine. . . but the photographer appears to have caught a cold.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker here, finally registered to chime in!

This one was taken in the Netherlands, just a few hours shy of new years eve 2015. Slightly color corrected and I was really blown away by the quality the 18-55 DA L WR can deliver on the K-50.

Cheers!

I recently upgraded my DA 18 - 55mm AL II to the WR version (second hand of course) to I thought I'd better test it, so off to Ballyseedy Wood with the K200d and WR, didn't expect quite that much rain.

Back from a bit of vacation at Saint Omer and using the smc DA 18-55 WR kit lens in full frame mode on the K-1 ... my Single Challenges lens for the month ... here are a few first efforts ... the kit lens works fine from about 24mm to 55mm. There's one image @ 18mm and I bet that you cannot find it ! (xpost)

Nice shots TFS, it's surprising it holds up so well on FF. Can I ask, were these taken with the hood on or off please?, I'd like to try mine on a Super A in the near future.
Thanks

They are mostly shots with the hood, if I remember correctly ... the hood does not cause any issues.

Long time since I dropped in on this thread - which is really a shame! There are so many great shots here, all proof that it's togger that counts, not the equipment

Trying to get to re-edit some shots from several years back. Here's one from Namib Rand, Namibia, taken with the 18-55WR on a K-5. The crop is rather extreme, mimicking the 65x24 format for the exotic Hasselblad XPan. Thanks to @todd for introducing me to this strange format

Hogg's Falls (just north of Flesherton, Ontario, Canada)

A photo of a small waterfall about a half-hour's drive from my home. I've been meaning to visit this one for quite some time but needed a good excuse to finally get up there. This past weekend afforded the perfect excuse: a family function that would take me along the route. A quick detour on the way home and there it was. Unfortunately, I only had my monopod with me so it was tricky to capture the falls with the desired slower shutter speeds. Despite that, I think the kit lens performed quite admirably. There was the possibility of some better views at the base of the falls but I was not suitably attired for the climb down the ravine. Oh well, I now have a great reason to go back another day with all the proper gear!
