But there are other kit lenses as you mentioned. I think the DAL55-300 might have been one. Usually the DAL series with plastic mount, no quickshift or hood, were considered kit lenses (bundled with the camera body). However, I think for this thread the OP considered the 18-55 as "the" kit lens.
