A few pages back I posted shots of the Augustinian Abbey just outside of Milltown Co. Kerry, only a few hundred yards away from the Abbey Ruins and completely hidden from view by trees which have grown up over time are the remains of another church known as the White Church its builder used local fieldstone (sandstone), not the more enduring and expensive Limestone used by the Abbey's builders.

Nobody seems to know when it was built or by whom or even why its called the White Church, it was already reported as being in ruins in 1757 and even less remains now, it was used by the Protestant Church of Ireland and is surrounded by tombs of the local gentry as well as ordinary graves of both Catholic and Protestant all mixed up together, something that is not unusual in Ireland.

Overgrown as it is makes it the most eyrie place and I would not like to be there on a dark night.

I was expecting rain and used the 18-55 WR which was the only lens I carried, not really impressed with it, I think the 18-55 AL II is better

A few more from the CAF Museum at the Camarillo CA airport. K10D with DA18-55:
PT-19A Cornell trainer. That's an RAF Spitfire in the background.

This P-38 engine was buried for years following a crash in 1944. Here's the story behind it: Ventura County Star, March 27, 2006

I don't use the FA 28-105mm from the film era often but given the right conditions, it delivers pretty great color rendition..

Lovely renditions on this under-appreciated lens.
