its me again...

I just saw moon rising from behind of forest, so I quickly grabbed my camera, small
Velbon tripod (changed lens from Sears 80-200 to 18-55AL II) and took series of photos..
No big PP, just conversion from PEF RAW and small cropping..

Picture taken on 19:06 (GMT+1)

This is .... WOW!

Clearly shows what you can do with $80 lens if you have the eye.

Yeah, it was one of those times when the whole visualization thing really came together in post-processing. The original looks pretty dull, though it is amazing what can be done by wrenching the curve and clipping all the shadows to black! Good bye mid-tones. Add a little selective de-saturation and there you have it...ART!

Some photos taken with the kit lenses:

DA-L 18-55

DA 18-55:

Looking at (my) photos taken witht he kit lenses makes me think I should spend more money (and time) on getting good photo opportunities and less on lenses because aside from being slow the kit lenses are really very good, especially combined with the in camera distortion correction.

What a wonderful way of putting it! Given a choice between spending $500 on a lens or $500 on a plane ticket, chances are excellent you'll get more out of the latter.
