I'd been searching for this lens for some time and recently bought an M42 mount version. Sadly, it backfocuses on my K10D so I haven't used it much. Gotta figure out if it's a camera issue or a lens issue

In any case, it's a lovely lens with typical Series 1 construction. I also own the 200mm f/3.0 (in K mount) which has the same IQ as the 135mm. The 90mm f/2.5, on the other hand, is something special, and optically better than its 135mm and 200mm sisters.

Just recently got myself a Series 1 2.8-3.5/28-90mm and I like it a lot. Sharpness and contrast wide open are good and stopped down excellent. There's some CA but not too much...

Guys - newbie here. I just bought the Tokina version to test out on my K-x. In the rear of the lens it says C/FD. How can I convert this to the K moun ton the K-x? Thanks for your help.

I have never seen any adapter to convert the Canon FD to Pentax K mount. I guess you'll have to mod the lens if you wish to use it. But that's not easy at all and may even destroy the lens.

Given the current prices I'd suggest you buy a copy specifically for Pentax, e.g. the 70-210mm macro by Komine (serial number starting by 28) to take advantage of the auto aperture whilst keeping the optical quality.

The following picture was taken with a 90mm f/2.5 Macro M42 lens mounted on a Pentax k10D by a genuine Pentax M42-K adapter.

no need to convert. all you have to do is buy an FD/K adapter from jinfinance on eBay. to get more idea on ways on using the adapter and effects, read this link >>> https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/101154-persona...k-adapter.html

lastly, if you want to fully utilize the lens as is, without having to resolve with any of the effects that the FD/K adapter would cause, you might want to consider buying an NX10 camera and a Novoflex FD/NX adapter. the Novoflex adapter is a glassless adapter that focuses to infinity and avoids any magnification caused by a correction element of the FD/K adapter.

I've got the 300MM Series A coming in that lot I won on Goodwill before the weekend, but I honestly don't know what mount it is. I've not been able to figure it out. Pic is too vague. I'm really hoping it's an FD or a K mount, but more likely it's a Konica, Yashica or Minolta.

Probably one of the latter two as there are both Yashica and Minolta lenses definitely listed as being in the lot. I figure it probably matches one or the other of those, but I won't know till they get here and I can post a better pic for ID.

I'm way too mechanically clueless to convert a lens like that but these pics, you all have really got me thinking maybe I ought to just find a camera that fit this lens whichever one it is, just so I can keep that baby! Really makes me wish that lens was the M42 or K mount version. Anyone got the 300MM? I'd love to see some shots taken with it.

Nice!
