I'm sure even the vole's look at them thinking "aren't they the cutest thing ever... omg it's coming at me!"

Do they stay in the open and easy to find?
When they're out, they're out. It's the finding them and IDing them from other sparrow sized birds that's a bit tough. Plus living in a city where they're constantly developing, it scares a lot of birds away and pushes them out of their habitats.

Living with more than just your own teenagers is very hard on the psyche. Even just your own teenagers are more than enough exposure.

I miss the kids a bit, but more than I miss the kids, I miss being able to keep up with them.

In a way it's real honour to be allowed to spend time with so many great people. Even if it is time spent cajoling them into learning.

Kirk window mount
I'm curious to know which Kirk window mount you have, and roughly the size of the vehicle that you have to move around in. Would you find any issues using a window mount in a smaller car?

I'm very impressed with my Tokina ATX 400 SD lens!

The first image was @55mm. Arrow points to ice fisherman.
The 2nd image was with the 400, handheld! (no sharpening done)

Teal are winter visitors hereabouts and are a nice complement to the shelducks and wigeon.

Tamron 31A 200-500mm on my K5 #1 is 100% crop.

This is a photo that I took of a Frangipani @ 600mm. 55-300 with manual 2xTC quite some time ago, and I felt that I needed to contribute something to the thread considering that it's hit 1000 pages. There are not many birds here where I am and the couple of species that are here are so shy and skittish that you can't get close enough for a good shot.
Beautiful colors FreeSpirit9. Love the combination of in- and out-of-focus. Seems just right.
