Bought this smc PENTAX 500mm f/4.5 from Japan on 1st of March and it arrived today.

I'm not sure what you call it but I think you say "mint condition". Anyway it looks like new and newer used so I'm very pleased. I've used a 400mm earlier but I have had trouble finding for example flying birds and other things moving in time to get the photo. But the sight that I've put a mark around makes it really fast to find whatever you want to so it's very useful. When I use the sight I'll find birds in the sky or anything else at once. Hope I will have some good photos of wildlife to share here in the spring.

Nice catch, siamthai! I'm looking forward to some shots with that. Be sure to get that sight in the right position--it's really helpful.

Very nice lens! I agree with dadipentak that the gun sight is worth its weight in gold. I have one on my M 400/5.6 and would have a lot more trouble finding targets without it.

Mint Condition don't quiet describe it. This thing looks like it's been hematically sealed after manufacture in the1970's and delivered straight to you. Nice gain for you...!

The more I use this Sigma lens 500mm F/4.5 the more I like it. We don't have to go to Canon or Nikon if we want a 500mm. This lens is cheaper too! We may lose 1/3rd of a stop from an F/4 but you won't notice it in morning or evening light and the K-5 makes up for the light loss.

Check out my last link below and it is about a 100% crop of a butterfly about one inch across I took with this lens.
