It seems you are a couple of weeks ahead for the migration then us Derek.
I had to send the Sigmonster in for a firmware upgrade today.
I hope I get it back soon for the migration but at least Vistek paid for the shipping.

We got a couple of hours out on the boat today despite it being a chilly (warmer at my daughter's place in St. Louis than here in Houston), grey day. But it was a pretty good day on the water for birds with an eagle, an osprey, some cormorants, and some white pelicans.

Here's a selected few photos. I know these aren't the greatest, but they are all taken from a rocking boat with the motor running. The photos were taken with a K-5IIs with the Pentax 55-300mm zoom at 300mm. Most photos were taken at 1/1000 sec to minimize movement from the boat and the photographer. The photos were are taken on Lake Conroe, north of Houston, TX.

Had a visitor to my backyard - I think it's an immature Cooper's Hawk (feel free to correct me!). Shot with my K-3 and Sigma 150-500 at 500.
Good shot Chip.

A lesson in patience. This male took to the air, then went out of sight, so we loaded back in the truck. I watched from too far away where he circled then mounted a female 50 yards from where we had been standing. What do landscape photographers say? Look behind you? It is spring, I should have expected something like this.

First, I apologize for the gloomy whiteout, mega crop, and distance this afternoon but excited for our Osprey's return almost six months to the day they left in August. Blue skies this weekend and a bush axe to clear through the brambles. Not exactly a great platform for the nest.
