I have recently found a spot where Lizards sun themselves, it's a case of standing still and quietly until they come out . K-5/Sigma 500mm f4.5 EX DG

Lovely Travis, nice to see them back this year. Gary, what a find. Thomas, the third one is stunning. What is it?

I must have been near this red tailed hawk's nest; one regularly circled overhead staring at me, the other stayed on the top of a tree nearby, maybe near the nest. More exploring necessary, although it is a bit inaccessible.
First the turkey's on the road on the way up the mountain.

This one didn't move, just screamed at me.

And this is the view if I turned around. Not 300mm, but oh well.

Mrs. Canada and I took a drive to Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada. We were driving up the Red Rock Canyon Road when a vehicle stopped in the oncoming lane and the driver pointed over to his right (our left). He had seen a bear across an abandoned beaver pond. Unfortunately for him, he left right away, and missed the action.

The bear (looks like a two year old to me) thought he would have a nice egg lunch at the Canada Goose café on the beaver lodge, where the pair had sited their nest. The moral of the story is "Don't cross a Canada Goose!"

All shots at 300mm with the K10D and DA 55-300.

Nothing worse to a bears reputation than being Goosed by a grade A Canada Goose

May 1st "Labour Day" morning tour at the local Botanic garden. Was shooting Laced Woodpecker and Oriental Magpie-Robin....suddenly when this Crested Goshhawk came along and standing at the branch of the tree, noticed all the birds were either went off or hiding w/o sound...
