I don't quite follow what you mean. This was taken with my K10D and the Tokina 400 lens, handheld.
In this location, where it is 50 feet to the trees, and in a populated neighbourhood, they are so skittish they disappear whenever I, my wife, my neighbour or a loud pickup truck (most of them) cause them to disappear. My reaction times are so slow with the M 400 that I cannot get them.

Ken - each time I see one of your shots I say, "No way you can top that one" - then you post another that raises the bar again.
This one will be hard to top
Same here!

Where was that. Looks like the kind of thing farming boys think of doing.

Sorry, unable to reveal that - it's in a preserve dedicated to protect nesting falcons.

I'm a farming boy, and never would have thought to do that.

The falcon was in a tree I thought looked like belonged on this side of the Pacific - that would have been enough detail to satisfy my question - east or west of the dateline. And probably the day the lads did it they were a bit hard up for any date.

Went to shot the Coppersmith Barbet feeding time on this morning. Both the daddy and mummy take turn for the food and the house cleaning after the food. The chick has grown up and will fledged in any time soon. Attached the youtube video clip after the pictures....and happy celebrating Mothers Day to ALL of you!!
