Meeting up with this Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker in the morning. Went ahead to check out the bird info from wiki, surprisingly read that the distribution only around the Asia region (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.) Not sure if anyone has seen a similar species from the west?     | |

Can't think of anything quite this colorful, but we do have several varieties of Tanagers that are pretty colorful - the Red, Western, and Summer to name a few. I showed this to my Fiancee. I said, "Hey, this is us when I buy a new lens!" ... She wasn't amused. Shot taken this morning at Assateague Island with Bigma hand-held. My usual spot for spotting Osprey has been a bust lately. Luckily these two Barn Swallows have been checking me out every time I show up. So now I have an entire collection of this pair. Hope you guys like Barn Swallows!  | |

As soon as I had focus through the trees, she had jumped to another branch. Manually focusing the DA*300 because it kept locking focus on all of the leaves.  I almost stepped on this guy.
