Hard to get close enough to get a picture of a Purple Martin chick
Here's the original version and the cropped version taken with Pentax K3, Sigma 500 and Better Beamer- while I will probably skip buying the K3 II this is a picture that the pixel shifting may have made the large crop better

Probably not. Any head movement would kill a pixel shifted image. That crop looks pretty good.

Very nice! The eggs haven't hatched yet up here. They hit the stage in your photo towards the end of August.

Pin-tailed Whydah, famous on the superb courtship dancing during the mating season. Taken with K-S1 + Sigma 150-500mm.

Our second week of 100F temps and nest shade has become a premium. We've yet to see or hear any chicks, much less any ready to fly at the normal first week of August departure.

Great shots everyone!

Some recent ones with the Sigma 50-500 EX DG.
I took a shot of the sea eagles at 100 mm focal length, and at 500 mm, just for comparison - the other side of the river was maybe 100 metres away.
