any suggestions/pros/cons on mirror or reflex lenses ?

I see that they have the reach and can be considerably cheaper than comparable prime/zooms....

Pros: Cheap (for the most part) and light

Cons: Fixed aperture, dark viewfinder. Donut Bokeh. Often focus past infinity. Vary in quality from ok to terrible.

thank you - I've read similar statements along the way and didn't see too many reflexes being used in this thread, either....

I have Pentax 1000/11. This is very difficult lens to handle.

Pros:
- Small and light comparing to over 800+ lenses or combos
- No CA/PF
- Built-in filters, including ND. Makes it convenient to shoot the sun directly.

Cons:
- Hard to handle
- Hard to focus -- focus throw is too wide for me
- Lower contrast (and micro-contrast) comparing to non-mirror lenses

I could get some affordable results from this beast, but not as good as from A* 600 + TC.

Why did the ruffed grouse cross the road? A-400, heavily cropped.

Sharing some flying shots from the Pin-tailed Whydah. All were taken from K-S1 + Sigma 150-500mm OS HSM.

I was thinking about buying this

Pentax SMCP- FA 600 mm F/4.0 (IF)ED Lens. | eBay

It looks too good to be true. In one of the pictures it shows the lens fitted to a silver K-3 and the lens has a polarizing filter holder fitted, I have asked if this is included in the sale and the seller says it only has the standard filter holder, do you think it could be a scam?

It's not BiN. There will be bidding. Probably all in the last 15 seconds. Good luck if you do submit a bid.
