Sorry, I was not sure about the correct english translation. These are Canis lupus arctos.
I didn't know there were Arctic wolves. Arctic, Polar or Gray - beautiful shots - per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_wolf a possible subspecies of gray wolf.

I guess it probably is a red tail I think the Swainson is found more commonly out in the west - I have a terrible time trying to keep track of all the variations of some of these birds. Now I am looking at some of my photos and questioning just what the heck they are

A few from yesterday, gray an drizzly (WR came in handy)
K3 ii and 560

Came upon an old weathered wagon. This was the best I could fit in the frame with the 560 before running out of room

Warbling Vireo

Gray catbird, (not as sharp as I would like, but the first time I've ever been able to get an unobstructed shot of this secretive bird. It immediately jumped back into the dense brush)

For a change from birds, I tried my Tokina 400 AT-X on a wildflower, handheld with K10D.

Gary, I love the first one!
Unless you can herd untamed wildlife, you just have to be there and be ready, don't you!

Noel, those shots are very nice.

I watched this otter as it ate a kokanee. It was close, unfortunately a branch was between us, which meant that the stills were not good, but this movie clip turned out reasonably well.
