I'm pretty safe here... this is a very respectable accomplished group.... the guys who see "nasty norm" would be totally out of place in this thread.

Yep, you're Otis' favorite poster and the only one to get his Highest Award without posting naked girls to get it. Who wouldn't want to be like you and Otis!

Thanks! I'm not much on bird ID. He is still a cute little guy. I do know a wet squirrel when I see one...and since it's been raining here for three days, I'm seeing plenty of them!

Those tails come in handy in the rain!

Regards!

looks like OTIS is hiding out. Maybe those eagle photos above him made him nervous.

Funny you mentioned it.....This is the first day I can recall in ages I haven't shot a squirrel...or anything else, except this ...which explains where I have been all day.

Shot with the Bigma 50-500 to conform with the thread....Don't want to be like ol' Norm and Otis!

Yep, did a heart stress test today......all went well and I think they are now going to admit that any problem is north of my heart about a foot. Pulled out lot of chest hair when I got home and stripped off those little electrodes, but nothing like it would have been with Otis!

Regards!

Great shots guys!! Sharing another migratory species from the north. Ferruginous Flycatcher (Muscicapa ferruginea), a nicknamed "Iron boy" was given (locally) due to it's Metallica brownish/black colors. It has a wide range from the S. China, Taiwan, and Philippines, visited the SEA countries between Oct to Feb. Unlike the Asian-browned and Dark-sided Flycatchers, the Ferruginous Flycatcher prefers to perch lower down in the undergrowth and flies down to pick up insects from the ground.

Nice! They got rather big eyes.

Hanging out with the grumpy parakeets this afternoon. Their ridiculous antics always put a smile on my face. The "oh my god, you're too close so I'm gonna fly away" and then land on a perch that's actually closer than the last

Nice shot, but it looks like a Dunnock to me - a while since I've seen one!

Yes, it is a Dunnock, a.k.a. Hedge Sparrow (Prunella modularis).

Thanks, all little brown birds were either sparrows or wrens so now I will have to add Dunnock to the list In the prevailing gloom they are the only small birds that stay still long enough to get a picture of.

Well, whatever he is, he is a cutie...and you got a very nice shot of him!

Norm.....My Jays that have gone missing for a few weeks have arrived back today....a couple of them. They said they have been way up at your place and have returned because the food here is better and there is more of it. They lamented leaving you because your shots are much better than mine, but in the end, it's what goes in the belly that counts!

You can know the name of a bird in all the languages of the world, but when you're finished, you'll know absolutely nothing whatever about the bird... So let's look at the bird and see what it's doing -- that's what counts. I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something.

And I'll bet you it doesn't know whether it's a Yellow-crowned or a Black-crowned Night Heron, and nor do I (though I'm tending towards Yellow-crowned).
