I've been around ordinary American crows all my life, but it isn't often that I've had a chance to get some good photos of them.
Scavengers by nature, this one was hanging out at a popular tourist viewpoint on the Oregon Coast. I always worry if I have the ID correct.
Here the alternative is a Raven, which is said to be larger and is said to have shaggy throat feathers. I wonder about the latter
as shown in the 3rd photo. I am satisfied that all 3 photos are of the same bird--- taken on the same roost (a post at Devils Punchbowl) South of Lincoln City
but I note the throat feathers don't appear on the other photos from different angles. The size was consistent with a Crow....
This is a crow fore sure!
I had a raven portrait in my archives, see the differences : the beak is stronger, the and you can see the throat feathers are very different...

When I was young I noticed that the dikes fairly often lay on their side, sometimes before they stopped moving. Usually the rider picked it up and got going again.

I've figured out my A400 doesn't focus well near infinity and beyond. The barrel is tight, too - I should be able to get it fixed somewhere.

Nonetheless, I think these are pics of a Northern harrier near a local reservoir - very far away (over half a mile) Or are they an osprey? I'd crop more, but it doesn't add to clarity. Last one is a red Diamond, though....
I'd say Osprey from the second picture.. but what do I know?

Agreed. looks like the Raven needs to see his 'feather dresser' too. the crow is pretty sleek.

K-5/FA*600mmf4ED[IF]/Kirk window mount.
Male and female Brambling from my car. It was only when I had a look at home that I noticed that they had landed on the same branch

Nice. Really like how the background goes with it.

DA*300 @ 420 - still having trouble getting focus. Without the TC, no problem. With the TC, it feels like I am shooting through a window.

Is this with the HDtc?
I'm curious, might be picking one up soon. How are your overall feelings of it? (or the TC you own in general...)
