what are you doing in PP, I note these are shot at ISO 2000. Although I love my K7 I don't think It can produce results like this at above ISO 800
Thanks to Tom and you, I think it is the K5 that is so good at high ISO, I can afford to shoot at F11 or F13 ( to broaden my DoF) because i know high ISO will turn out OK. Thanks.

Been working with a dot org that are in process of gathering data on effect
brood parasites have on other avian populations. In this case its
yellow-billed cukoos as the culprit(pic 1) and mostly warblers and vireos in
general and prothonotary warblers in particular here.Pic 2 is a female prothonotary
gathering nest material, shadow in foreground is stump with active nest.
With temperatures well into 90's at midnight and dew point close to 80
have to be very careful enviromentally tempering lens/sensor to conditions.
Was able to catch 2 males squabling at den with 5D II & 500/4 from about 18 feet.
Will soon be published by dot org for all to see.
If your looking for something worthwhile to do with your rigs, there are hundreds
other programs across U.S., Always looking for help.

1-K20,Tamron 360B,01F 2x TC (yellow-billed cukoo)
2-k20,A35-105/3.5...wait few weeks, show what males look like
3-LX,M400/5.6 on portra 400,eastern kingbird.just for fun

Dadi - i think PSE is quite similar to CS4 ? ( which i use ) If so, you can get an excellent free software proggy called PFK. Its an action that you plugin to Adobe.

Have a look here

If that gives you problems, there's another here.. the link is under the very last 2 photos of the towers

Tried a little water borne shooting this morning. 17 foot old town tripper canoe
in slough off mississippi river. Heat and time of year such as it is, the insect
hatches that the warblers are keying on and Im trying to shoot are coming off about a
half an hour before sunrise. Found out one way to stay cool in this heat
is to hold a few chunks of ice in arm-pits.Re-affirms my confidence in weather sealing.
Adds to belief that octopi have it easy.

All with K20,A400/5.6 + 1.4 XL TC

1-juvenile Black-crown night heron from about 5 meters
2-Green Heron
3-Juvenile great white egret(left),Green heron in stare down over territorial fishing rights.

Nice shots, Bill--I like the stare-down especially. Also an interesting tip for cooling. Are your armpits weather-sealed?

Another attempt with the A 400/5.6 - trying to convince myself that I don't need a "better" telephoto.

People on flickr seem to like this photo but I didn't think they were going to like it so much that it is rocketing up the ranks in my photostream. I caught the light nicely with my K-5 with a Sig 500mm. I really think the best photos capture the light nicely.

At the time I caught this one there was a thin layer of clouds between us and the sun and I caught it approxiately at a 60 to 80 degree angle to the sun.

Outstanding detail, color, and lighting!

I looked at your original size image on Flikr and the detail there is also outstanding.

I couldn't find the exif data for the image - just curious what lens this is where you say "Sigma 500".

Daniel, nothing wrong with the results you are getting from the SMC 400 A. I also have a copy of the lens and find it a very decent piece of glass.
Now repeat after me, I must resist LBA.

Bad timing with your therapy, John, - I am just talking about buying the Sigma 300/2.8 with Oren!

Yes, beautiful lighting with the heron!
