The same thing will be said once hunting season opens, just with a different "weapon!"

You weren't the only one watching him. Look above the limb slanting above his shoulder. You will see the rear haunches and tail. The head is out of focus, but one front leg is visible. Do you have coyotes there?

lol....I'm up a small mountain but only 20 min from downtown, so I'd end up with the house surrounded...

Trying to make it out but can't quite see it yet. There are coyotes on the mainland but I don't think we have any here on the island....lots of cougar and bear though..... Hope it's not a cougar

What, you weren't shot or bludgeoned for pointing that bazooka at aircraft?!?!?

Naw, they were putting on a display for Singapore's National Day Parade today, so there were literally thousands of cameras out ready to catch them and the fireworks later in the evening.

this really should be a goldfinch

Honestly, I did not go out to photograph butterflies!

I saw a godlfinch feeding off these flowers all morning while doing yardwork, but when I went to get my camera, they never came back. Same old story, the birds are always around when I dont have a camera, I think know some how

this is a little over exposed, ( set exposure back in SPS X3. due to over exposure, there was severe Purple fringing on the flower, and the bright parts of the butterfly, which I removed with PSP purple fringe tool and CA correction.

Shot with my K7 and tamron 200-500F5.6 stopped down to F8.

this is about 20% of the total frame area.

I'm still waiting for the quote on repairing my M 400/5.6, and get severe LBA every time one of my fellow owners posts these gorgeous photos! Stop, please stop, my envy is getting ridiculous. Just to add to the pain, we had a pair of Western Tanager males at the feeder yesterday. Sigh.

I'll take #1 pls. Sharp and it posed for you. Fun birds to capture.

Do you just underexpose a stop and then bring it back in PP? My k-5 really blows the red channel on yellow flowers and finches in direct sun like that.

Those are great, Tom--you're really a master with that lens! I've been keeping an eye out for finches but the weeds here haven't gone to seed yet.
